Welcome to the Just Science website for all science courses with instructor Mrs. Haywood-Johnson. Let me start off by saying this is my second year teaching at Robert E. Lee High School have been interesting to say the least, the amount of School Spirit that fills the halls is extremely impressive. As the number of schedule changes dwindle and we settle more into the routine of things I strongly believe we can honestly continue to carry the torch of success that REL has rightfully obtained.
I look forward to the rest of the year hopefully sparking an interest for some students in the field of science as well as a social awareness to how science is associated with their everyday lives. By utilizing this website, I anticipate we have a fighting chance at being successful at the completion of School Year 2015-2016. This site will host all of our classes resources: video lectures, presentations, links, and much more. It is intended to allow for more student-focus teaching in that we do not spend time in class going through teacher-centered explanations (lecture), this resource acts more as a student text and set of provocations for discussion and inquiry. I am confident that these tools will prepare students for the Biology End-of-Course examination in May as well as provide them the necessary tools to acquire the required credits for promotion.
